Wadesboro- Mr. Alvon Germany, 78, died Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center Union in Monroe.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Byrd, Rev. Donald Wallace and Rev. Mark Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Tuesday evening at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church and other times at the home, 2180 Hwy 109N. in Wadesboro.
Alvon was born in Newsite, Alabama on September 13, 1937 a son of the late Allie Fonza Germany and Mary Ellen Pribble Germany. He was a retired textile worker having worked with Wade Mfg. of Wadesboro and Tuscarora Yarns Inc. in Oakboro. He was a member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Sarah Mann Germany of the home; his children, Vera (Rev. Mark) Moore of Chattahoochee, FL, Karen (Rev. Barry) Gerald of Wadesboro, Vonnie Williams of Gibson, SC and Al Britten Germany of Wadesboro; his sister, Marie Feagin of Wadesboro; his grandchildren, Allen Meachum, Jennifer Haywood, James Barry Gerald, Jr., Chris Gerald, Ashley Hildreth, Kevin Williams, Ted Williams, Zackery Williams, AJ Germany, Jr., Justin Germany, Austin Germany, Ben Moore, Brandon Moore, Bradley Moore, and Brian Moore; and 30 great-grandchildren.
