WADESBORO - Anna Christine Lowder Thompson, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday March 10, 2016. She was born in Ansonville N.C. on August 10, 1925 at the Old Hotel to the late Guilford Martin and Mary Jewel Meachum Lowder.
She was a lifelong resident of Anson County, graduating from the first 12th grade class of Lilesville High School. She married the late Benjamin Franklin Buddy Thompson on October 26, 1945, and together making a home for their three children and working hard to provide a good life for them. She was a loving mother who was always very active working as a CNA in local skilled nursing centers and in private duty for the last 30 years. She enjoyed life, especially jumping the waves at the beach, her family and friends, working in her yard, good food, and good company.
She was a committed Christian, trusting Christ at a young age and being baptized at First Baptist Church. She was a longtime member of Wade Baptist and in recent years, Wadesboro Church of God. She loved worship and Gospel music.
Anna is survived by her three children, Gary Thompson, Barbara T. Cave (Roger), and Debbie T. Smith (Felix). Grandchildren: Dane Thompson, Greg Cave (Lynette), Mark Cave (Helen), Roger Cave (Kristen), Wilbur Chip Streater (Tina), Anna Christine Crissi Streater, Shannon S. Keziah, Julie S. Guido. Great Grandchildren: Will Cave, Mattie Cave, Ethan Cave, Noah Cave, Alex Petzke, Christina Petzke, Eddie Petzke, Drew Keziah, Emma Guido, Grace Guido and Olivia Guido and Christian Emerson.
She is survived by sisters, Louise L. Leach, Connie L. Diggs, and Frances L. Crump. Sisters in law, Mildred Lowder, Margie Lowder, Virginia Jimmie T. Lupton. Brother in laws, Grady Thompson, James Hough and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by siblings, Jasper B. Jack Lowder, Jewel Corinna Lowder, and Ernest G. Lowder, and a daughter in law, Jan Henry Thompson
The family will receive friends and family on Sunday March 13, 2016, at 1:00 with a service following at 2:00, at Wadesboro Church of God, 809 N. Green Street, Wadesboro, N.C. Followed by interment at Anson Memorial Park.
