MONROE - Mrs. Anne Odom Helms, 77, died Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the home of her daughter in Indian Trail.
There will be a memorial service at 1:00pm Friday, September 4, 2015 at Mill Grove United Methodist Church Sun Valley Campus in Indian Trail with Rev. Jesse Herring officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Anne was born May 19, 1938 in Dublin, VA a daughter of the late Luther Lemuel Odom, Jr. and the late Lucy Wyant Story Odom. She grew up in Wadesboro, NC and was a graduate of Wadesboro High School where she was a cheerleader and attended Longwood College in Farmville, VA.
She worked for many years in secretarial bookkeeping and most recently worked with Thomco Properties in Monroe.
Surviving are her daughters, Tracy Helms Oxendine of Georgetown, SC and Kelly Helms (John) Norton of Indian Trail; her grandchildren, Josh Oxendine, Nikki (Sean) Odom Nelson and Casey Odom all of Indian Trail; her great-grandchildren, Riley Oxendine and Liam Nelson; her sister, Peggy Odom Kellar of Rockingham; her aunts, Barbara Odom Jensen of Ft. Myers, FL and Katherine Story Waddell of Wadesboro and many special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, L.L. 'Skeekie' Odom, III.
