Annie Carr Powers Mrs. Boothby

NORFOLK, Va. - Annie Carr Powers Boothby, 96, died Monday, May 11, 2015 in a Norfolk hospital. Born in Hamlet, she was the daughter of the late Susan Catherine Boney Powers and Allan Grover Powers. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Neil George Leslie Boothby; her grandson, John Clifton Councill IV; and brothers, Allan Grover Powers Jr. and James Woods Powers. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Susanne Boothby Councill (Jay) of Norfolk, Virginia, and Neil George Leslie Boothby Jr. (Rosalind) of Wadesboro; grandchildren, Leslie Anne Councill and Neil McLendon Boothby (Brooke) of Norfolk and Jeffrey Allan Boothby of Wadesboro; great-granddaughter, Townley Anne Boothby; and many special cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 1009 W. Princess Anne Road, Norfolk, VA 23507.
