LILESVILLE - After 97 years of a wonderful life with many friends and family, Annie Dutton Bowman, left this world, on Saturday, February 22, 2014, for a better place that is a reward for living a loving and caring life.
Annie was born on July 6, 1916 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Gifford and Eula Kelly Dutton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman, brothers, Clifford, Luke, Jack, Eugene, Robert and Milton, sister, Jamie Hough and son, Charles.
Surviving are her brother, Maynard Dutton; her daughters, Shelba Poplin and Ann Moody (Stephen); her three living grandchildren, Lydia Bowman, whom has lived with her Grandmother for several years, Susan Tucker (Gene) and Frederick Liles (Donna); 6 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was much loved by her nieces and nephews and their families.
Annie was a devoted and active member of Long Pine United Methodist Church and her community. She retired from Anson County Hospital as a Certified Nurse's Assistant in 1984.
Annie Dutton Bowman was loved by all who had the good fortune to know her and we can all take note of her shining example of a humble spirit and truly a giving, servants heart.
There will be a service to celebrate the life of Annie Bowman at 11:00am, Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Long Pine United Methodist Church with Rev. Stephen Shytle and Rev. Ray O'Ferrell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the home in Lilesville.
