WADESBORO - Mrs. Argie Gammons Gerald, 70, died Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Kindred Health Care in Monroe. Funeral services will be 4:00pm Tuesday, April 22, 2014 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Swaringen and Rev. Ronnie Sullivan officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of her son. Argie was born May 9, 1943 in Richmond County, NC a daughter of the late James Madison and Myrtle Starling Gammons. She had owned and operated an in home day care for many years and later worked at Smith's Cleaners in Wadesboro. Surviving are husband, Rev. James H. Gerald of the home; her children, Rev. Barry (Karen) Gerald of Wadesboro, Katie (Brian) McLaurin of Summerville, SC, Robin Foster of St. Cloud, MN and Jamie (Jessica) Gerald of Charlotte; her grandchildren, James Gerald, Jr., Christopher Gerald, Heather Rossidis, Holly McLaurin, Jessica Player, Charlotte Gerald, Corrie Gerald and Campbell Gerald; her great-grandchildren, Callie, Bailey, Alyvia, Andie and Noah; and her sister, Gay Richardson of Rockingham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, James Gregory Gerald and by her sister, Betty Jean Gibson.
