WADESBORO - Mrs. Arlene Deese, 66, died Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, April 16, 2016 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Knotts officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home. Arlene was born September 19, 1949 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Ray William Deese and the late Sarah Frances Burr Deese. She had worked as a convenience store clerk. Surviving are her children, Wendy (Wayne) Barber of Polkton, John Bubba (Patricia) Goodwin, Jr. of Morven, Ray (Kim) Goodwin of Lilesville and April (Kevin) Melton of Chesterfield, SC; her grandchildren, Sean, Chris and Meghan Barber, Brittany, Bianca, and Amy Goodwin, Amber and Bethany Mical, Steven and Brandon Goodwin, and Brooke, LeAnn and Hailey Melton; her great-grandchildren, DJ, Caylie, Landon and Andrew Barber, Mayson Hildreth, Colt Goodwin and TJ and Bralynn Johnson; her brothers, Julian (Betty Jo) Deese of Wadesboro and Warren Deese of Polkton and her long-time friend, Ed Overbee of Chesterfield, SC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sisters, Horace Deese, Margie Chastain, Helen Deese and Linda Craig. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
