Betty Clanton Mrs. Beaver

LILESVILLE - Mrs. Betty Clanton Beaver, 66, died Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Polkton Baptist Church with Rev. John Greene, Rev. Jimmy Knotts and Rev. Tommy Weatherford officiating. Interment will follow in Williams Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Monday, July 27, 2015 at Leavitt Funeral Home and other times at the home. Betty was born April 5, 1949 in Darlington County, SC a daughter of the late John Bennie Clanton and the late Sarah High Clanton Floyd. She had worked for several years in the dietary department at Ambassador Health and Rehab in Wadesboro and was a member of Polkton Baptist Church. Surviving are her devoted friend and companion, Don Thompson of Lilesville; her children, Wendy Duncan of Monroe, David (Jennifer) Beaver of Stallings, Don Thompson of El Marige, AZ, Bridget London of Ft. Smith, AR, Kelly Thompson and Jeffery Thompson both of McAlester, OK; her brother and sister, Benny (Brenda) Clanton of Levelland, TX and Marie (Ralph) Terry of Wadesboro; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin 'Bud' Beaver, Jr. and sisters, Doris Dutton and Helen Mathis.
