Wadesboro Mrs. Betty Parrish Harrington, age 83, died Wednesday, May 08, 2019, while a patient at Anson Health & Rehab.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00PM Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Johnson and Rev. David Parrish officiating. Interment will follow at Anson Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends beginning one hour before the service.
Born in Anson County on October 11, 1935, Betty was a daughter of the late Lawrence Parrish and Ethel Grace Deese Parrish. She had worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant and was retired from the Lillie Bennett Nursing Facility.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, William "Bill" Harrington of the home; two daughters, Esta (Craig) Stroud of Hamlet and Brenda Carpenter of Wadesboro; four grandchildren, Bryan (Stephanie) Tucker of Morven, Scott Tucker of Rockingham, Jeff (Love) Carpenter of Marshville, and Lori Schnierllein of Wadesboro; and eight great-grandchildren, Jordan (Hollie) Tucker, Peyton Tucker, Noah Tucker, Logan Tucker, Walker Carpenter, Hanna Harward, Jordan Schnierlein and Kendall Schnierlein.
Also surviving two brothers, Tom (Jenny) Parrish of Chesterfield, SC, and Steve (Jackie) Parrish of Camden, SC. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Lawrence Parrish and Ralph Edward Parrish; and two sisters, Judy Parrish Cassidy and Billie Parrish.
