Betty Jo Hill Mrs. Lee

WADESBORO - Mrs. Betty Jo Hill Lee, 87, died Monday, January 5, 2015 at Anson Health and Rehab in Wadesboro. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Thursday, January 8, 2015 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Calvin Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow in Westfield Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Cheraw, SC. The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Wednesday, January 7, 2014 at the funeral home. Betty Jo was born October 24, 1927 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Joe Hendley Hill and Ruth Polk Hill. She had worked for a number of years in textiles and enjoyed being a homemaker. Surviving are her children, Barbara (Larry) Helms of Marshville, Sherry (Franklin) Ponds of Ansonville and Joe E. (Kyra) Lee, Jr. of Murrels Inlet, SC; her grandchildren, Amy Echols, Annette Wilson, Tracy Joyner, Christy Treadaway, Wendee Ruppe, Kenny Streater, William Streater, Timmy Lee, David, Lee and Ian Chinnes; 16 great-grandchildren; her brother and sisters, Jim Hill of Polkton, Peggy Heavener of Myrtle Beach, SC, Ann Munn and Catherine Tyson both of Ansonville; and her nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe E. Lee, son, David Lee, daughter, Mary Jane Lee, great-grandson, Joshua Ponds, sister and brothers, Sue Brock, Ralph Hill, Johnny Hill and Paul Hill. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Betty Jo's 15 years of breast cancer survivorship, memorials may be made to the, Charlotte Affiliate of Susan G.
