Betty Harrison Mrs. Parker

WADESBORO - Mrs. Betty Harrison Parker, 83, died Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at her home. The family will greet friends Friday, June 27, 2014 from 10:00am until 12:00pm at Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Polkton with a graveside service following in the church cemetery. The Rev. Billy Hill will officiate. Betty was born July 1, 1930 in Johnson County, NC a daughter of the late Kyle Al and Mary Jane Hardee Harrison. She had worked as a rural mail carrier in York County, SC. Surviving are her husband, Hugh Lowder Parker of the home; her children, Craig Parker of Midlothian, VA, Gail Chapp of Iron Station, NC and Martin Parker of Goose Creek, SC; her grandchildren, Stephen Parker, Kaitlen Parker, Gretchen Parker, Ashley Thompson, Hannah Thompson, Jesse Parker and Maggie Parker and her sisters, Hazel Poole and Larue Crabtree both of Clayton, NC. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jean Barber. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3800 Shamrock Dr., Charlotte, NC 28215 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
