Betty Braswell Mrs. Still

BETTY BRASWELL STILL - Betty Braswell Still, age 79, resident of Kings Mountain, NC passed away January 5, 2015. She was born in Anson Co, NC to the late Bryant Braswell, Sr. and Lily Dennis Braswell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Garland E. Still, Jr. Mrs. Still was a lifelong educator, retiring in August, 2014 from Gaston College as a GED instructor. She was a graduate of Western Carolina University with a Degree in Education and later earned her Master's Degree. She also taught home economics and was an Independent Living Instructor for the Blind. She was a former member of Myers Memorial United Methodist Church, Gastonia, NC where she was a member of the Women's Circle. She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Kings Mtn. NC where she served on the Church Council, Christian Education Committee, Social Ministry Committee, Altar Guild, and she taught the Adult Sunday School Class. She also enjoyed being a member of the Garden Club and DAR. She was generous in spirit with her students and anyone in need. SURVIVORS: Son: Garland Everett Still, III and wife Vicky, Kings Mtn.
