Wadesboro- Mrs. Betty Maree Williams, 79, died Sunday, April 10, 2016 at McWhorter House at Hospice of Union County in Monroe. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Swaringen and Rev. Steve Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends an hour before the service beginning at 1:00PM. Betty was born in Anson County on May 22, 1936, a daughter of the late Lona Maree, reared by her aunt and uncle Mamie and JB Tomlinson. She had worked more than 30 years at West Knitting before retiring from Perfect Fit Industries in Monroe. Betty was a member of Cathedral Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughter, Sharon Boyette of Wadesboro; a step-son, Michael (Sheri) Williams of Lilesville; a step-daughter, Janice (Hugh) Mozingo of Jacksonville, NC; nine grandchildren, Blain (Maria) Flake, Matthew (Nicole) Flake, Michelle Williams, Michael Williams Jr., Zachary (Hyun Ju) Mozingo, Hannah Mozingo, Mark Mozingo, Britney Smith and Shana Baucom; and eight-granchildren, Alyssa, Elynn, Aiden, Addison, Erica, Logan, Elias and another Alyssa. Also surviving are her sisters and brothers, Ruth (Virgil) Steele of Wadesboro, Judy Smith of Rockingham, Linda Butler of Rockingham, Hal (Chris) Maree of Rockingham, and Wayne Butler of Concord. Betty was preceded in death, by her husband, Albert Bud Williams, her son, Robert Jacob Boyette, and a brother, Richard Butler. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
