MORVEN – On Wednesday, July 12, 2023, Mrs. Beverly Crepps Ruddock, 85, passed away peacefully at McWhorter Hospice House in Monroe on her 85th birthday.
There will be a memorial service at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 25, 2023, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Private inurnment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.
Beverly was born July 12, 1938, in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late James Dunlap Krepps and the late Josie Belle Goodwin Krepps. She was a graduate of Anson High School and Kings Business College in Charlotte.
She worked in several different career areas which included, executive secretary for J.P. Stevens in Cheraw, SC, executive secretary to the postmaster in Greenville, SC, First Union Bank in Charlotte and following retirement from First Union, she worked as a Customer Service Manager at Walmart in Wadesboro.
Beverly lived a quiet and simple life, but she did enjoy time shared with her family and friends. She greeted her customers with a polite smile and compliment as part of her daily routine on her job.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Kimberly Burch Smith of Charlotte; her grandchildren, Corinthian Burch (Cami) of Alaska, Mason Smith (Mandy) of Lancaster, SC and Jordan Smith of Charlotte; her great-grandchildren, Gracelyn, Scarlett, Soren and Grayson and her extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Christina Louise Smith and her sisters and brother, Edna Hooker, Margaret Wilkes, Louise Shaver and J.D. Crepps.
Beverly’s family is most grateful to the staff at Atrium Health Anson and Hospice of Union County for the excellent way they cared for her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110.
