PEACHLAND Mr. Billy Ray Parker, 55, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 5, 2018 with his family at his side at Hospice of Union County in Monroe, NC.
There will be a service of celebration and music honoring his life at 2:00pm Saturday, November 10, 2018 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro with Rev. Tim Helms and Rev. Jean Taylor officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Billy was born June 15, 1963 in Richmond County, NC a son of the late Edward Jack Parker and the late Ruby Lee Prevatte Parker. He was a 1982 graduate of Richmond Senior High School in Rockingham and had worked for more than 20 years with Radiator Specialty Chemical Solutions.
Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Wanda Horne Parker; his miniature dachshund babies, Kaitlyn and Nicholas; his brothers and half-sister, Jerry Parker of Rockingham and Wayne Parker and Lisa Donovan both of North Myrtle Beach, SC; his brother-in-law, Larry Horne of Peachland; his sisters-in-law, Teresa Campbell, Sandra (Thomas) Watkins and Connie Horne all of Peachland; and special friends, Wes and Lisa Temple, Paul Jorgenson, James Truett, Morris Guinn, Harold and Sheila Harward, Annette Hayes Snead and Karen Patterson.
The family would like to express their sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Union County, especially, Monica Polston, RN, Sharon Lamparter, RN, Jan Norris, RN, Kim Outen, CNA, Shevon Melton, CNA, Tonya Harrell, CNA and Andrea Walker, CNA for the special care they gave to Billy and the family.

Red was Billys favorite color and those who attend the service are asked to wear red in celebration of his life.
