PEACHLAND - Mrs. Blondell Williams Davis, 90, died Friday, December 12, 2014 at Jesse Helms Nursing Center in Monroe.
Funeral services will be 3:00pm Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Deep Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Phillips and Rev. Steve Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Monday, December 15, 2014 at Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro and other times at the home of her daughter on West Deep Springs Church Road.
Blondell was born July 26, 1924 in Union County, NC a daughter of the late Cyrus and Lizzie Medlin Williams. She was a homemaker and private duty caregiver, having worked with more than 30 families; however, her most notable caregiving was for that of her own family members, especially her son, Warren for his entire life. She lived an example of giving of oneself and that of a true unconditional love of a mother.
She was a long-time member of Deep Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting with the ladies at Polkton Depot.
Surviving are her children, Lanny Davis and Sherry (Ronnie) Austin both of Peachland; her grandchildren, Mike (Kathy) Preslar of Norwood and Tyler Austin and Justin Austin both of Peachland; and her great-grandchildren, Michael Preslar, Lauren Preslar and Trinity Austin.
Also surviving are her brothers and sister, Morris (Geraldine) Williams and Homer (Frances) Williams both of Marshville, Earl (Sybile) Williams of Polkton and Macie Dean (Billy) Warner of Wadesboro; and her nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Justis Brice Davis, daughter, Joann Preslar, son, Warren Davis, son-in-law, Eddie Preslar, brothers, Buren Williams, Hoyle Williams and sister, Pauline Helms.
