Bob was born February 8, 1959, in Syracuse, NY then adopted and relocated by Gerald and Erma Sabin to Ridgewood, NJ. He was a Native American and a member of the St. Regis Mohawk Native American tribe. Bob attended Robert Morris University and was a founding father of the Kappa Delta Rho fraternity.
In 2000, the Sabin family relocated to Monroe, NC, where Bob became known as the 'water guy' from Clearly Carolina Water and Coffee. He then joined the Union County Chamber of Commerce and most recently was employed with Frontier Communications. Most people know Bob through his volunteer work with several Union County non-profits including the American Red Cross, Girls on the Run, Heart to Heart and New Ventures. Bob's community involvement included actively serving on the Monroe Breakfast Rotary Club and he was always just a phone call away to assist any non-profit or individual in need. He was awarded Union County's 'Volunteer of the Year' and also presented with the 'Governor's Award for Volunteer Service' for his efforts.
Bob was a wonderful husband, father, and family man. He was beyond proud of his sons and their accomplishments. Survivors include his beloved wife of 28 years, Marion Sabin of the home; three sons, Kyle Robert Sabin, Ryan Joseph Sabin and Sean Daniel Sabin; a sister, Pamela Sparrow Childs; a brother, William Hess; two sisters-in-law, Maggie Krahe (Martin) and Mo Longacre (Howard); and eight nieces and nephews, Brian, Kelly, Peggy, Paul, Beverly, Steven, Erika, and Bridget.
