POLKTON Mr. Bonnie Eugene Adams, 90, died Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at his home.
Funeral services will be 2:00PM Friday, August 11, 2017 at Sandy Plains United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry King officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Thursday at Leavitt Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Bonnie was born August 14, 1926 in Chesterfield County, SC a son of the late Oday Adams and the late Mary Ratliff Adams. He was a life-long member of Sandy Plains United Methodist Church in Morven.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II. Following an honorable discharge from the Navy, he enrolled in auto body repair school on the GI Bill. He worked in auto body repair and sales for more than 40 years in Anson County.
Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Star Watkins Adams; his daughter, Linda Wright and husband, Larry of Polkton; his grandsons, Brett Blalock and wife, Heather of Mt. Gilead, Brian Blalock and wife, Crystal of Polkton and Ashley Blalock of Albemarle; his great-grandchildren, B.J. Blalock, Taylor Kime and husband, Jake, Tony Blalock, Ray Blalock, Scarlett Blalock and Georgia Blalock; his great-great-granddaughter, Leah Kime; and his brother, Bobby Adams and wife, Jane of Wadesboro.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Adams and his sister, Willie Adams.
