WAXHAW - On Saturday, November 5, 2022, Mrs. Brenda Teal Wallace, 76, passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her bedside.
There will be a memorial service at 2:00 PM Monday, 14, 2022 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Brenda was born September 2, 1946 in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late Allen Bunyon “Jacko” Teal and the late Nancy Wallace Teal. She was a 1964 graduate of Wadesboro High School, where she was valedictorian of her class.
Brenda had a long career in public service in both Anson and Union Counties. She first worked with Anson County Probation and Parole following that she went to work in Union County, having worked as secretary with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Union County Driver’s License Examiner, Union County EMS and later with Union County Dispatch and was involved with the E911 system set-up for Union County. Following her retirement, she worked as a private duty in home care giver.
Brenda lit up every room she entered and impacted so many. She was a joyful presence with her colorful wardrobe, perfectly fixed hair, creative fashion choices and sassy personality. She loved her family and friends, she never missed a birthday or holiday, and spent many hours cooking and preparing her famous southern dishes.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Vickie Hinson Rorie (Mark Eilermman) of Waxhaw and Jackie Hinson Baucom (Tommy Humbles) of Monroe; her grandchildren, Adam Rorie of Monroe, Morgan James (Skip) of Marsville, Colby John Baucom, Ellis Baucom and Nathan Baucom all of Monroe; a special niece, Vonda Stoudt (Paul) of Covington, GA and her family.
She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Miriam Eury.
