WADESBORO Mrs. Camille Moss Ballard, 62, died peacefully Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte with her husband and son by her side.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, March 16, 2018 at First Baptist Church, Wadesboro. The interment will be private in Eastview Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Leavitt Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Camille was born December 19, 1955 in Lee County, NC a daughter of Evelyn Wallace Moss and the late John Chandler Moss. She was a graduate of Richmond Senior High School and received her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from St. Andrews Presbyterian College. She later received her Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Gardner Webb University.
Her career in elementary education would span more than 33 years, having taught first in Richmond County Schools and later in Anson County Schools where she retired from Lilesville Elementary. She was currently employed on a part time substitute basis with Lilesville School. She cared very deeply for the children she taught and had a new story to share with her family every day about one of her children.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Wadesboro and was a quiet and humble example of a Christian lady.
Of accomplishments in Camille's life, the one she was most proud of was that of mother. She was very proud of her son and the young man he has become.
Camille will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother, a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
Surviving are her husband of 31 years, John Irvin Ballard, Jr.; her son, John Irvin Ballard, III both of the home; her mother, Evelyn Moss of Rockingham; her sisters, Elizabeth Ann Moss and Beverly Moss Crouse both of Rockingham; her sister-in-law, Katharine Ballard Ainsworth of Wadesboro; her nephews and nieces, Dr. David S. Crouse of Winston-Salem, Miss Hannah Wallace Crouse of Carboro, Miss Christina Elizabeth Moss of Rockingham, Charles Arthur Lee Ainsworth, III and wife, Brook of Wadesboro and Elizabeth Conaway Ainsworth of Belmont and her great-niece, Charlotte Alexandria Ainsworth of Wadesboro. She was also looking forward to the birth of Lee and Brooks twins, a boy and girl this spring.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Irvin and Barbara Ballard.
