PEACHLAND – On Thursday, December 12, 2024, Mr. Carl Herbert Taylor, 89, passed away peacefully at Anson Health and Rehab in Wadesboro.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Monday, December 16, 2024, at Hopewell Methodist Church with Rev. Patrick Ledford officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall on Monday.
Herbert was born January 22, 1935, in Anson County, NC and was a son of the late Carl Brinkman Taylor and the late Glady Lee Kiker Taylor. He was a graduate of Burnsville High School and had retired from Little Cotton Manufacturing in Wadesboro.
He was a life-long member of Hopewell Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening and farming and always looked forward to reading The Charlotte Observer every day and had read the Bible through multiple times.
Those who are left to cherish his memory are his children, Patricia Conklin and husband, Terry, Rodney Taylor and wife, Bink and Becky Taylor all of Peachland; his daughter-in-law, Terri “Punk” Wright of Wadesboro; his grandchildren, David Conklin and wife, Claire, Kevin Conklin and wife, Meleah and Jeremy Taylor and wife, Whitney all of Polkton, Neal Conklin and wife, Jessica of Wadesboro, Jason Taylor and wife, Heather and Brian Taylor and wife, Laurie all of Albemarle, and Anthony Taylor and wife, Sarah of Peachland; his great-grandchildren, Brayden Conklin, Ada Conklin, John Neal Conklin, Reese Conklin, Blaise Conklin, Archer Conklin, Silas Conklin, Maddux Conklin, Remi Kate Conklin, Kaylee Thompson, Steven Howell, Peyton Howell, Holden Taylor, Merritt Taylor, Easton Taylor, Mason Taylor and Skye Taylor; his great-great-grandchildren, Korrina Thompson, Kenntley Thompson, Aerial Thompson; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Gladys Taylor of Lumberton, Vicky Taylor of Texas, Betty Pope and husband, Jerry and Carson Cox and wife, Alice all of Polkton and Ila Mae Barwig of Mt. Gilead and his nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Cox Taylor; his son, Arnold Taylor and by his brothers, Kirby Taylor and Roger Taylor.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hopewell Methodist Church, 1715 Hopewell Church Rd., Peachland, NC 28133.
