WADESBORO - Mrs. Catherine 'Cathy' Diane Rhodes Burr, 67, died Friday, May 3, 2013 at Anson Community Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday, May 6, 2013 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Whitlow officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at the funeral home and other times at the home. Cathy was born December 6, 1945 in Saluda, SC a daughter of the late Maxie Outzs Rhodes and the late Myrtle Cromer Rhodes. She had worked for several years at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Wadesboro and attended Fall Branch Baptist Church in Lilesville. Surviving are her husband of 33 years, Joe Thomas Burr of the home; her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Turner Morton of Gastonia; her grandsons, Ian and William Morton of Gastonia; her step-children, Delores Mullis and Tommy Burr both of Wadesboro; her step-grandchildren, Alisha and Tyler Mullis and Amelia, Morgan and Little Tommy Burr all of Wadesboro; her step-great-grandson, Zachary Kiker of Wadesboro. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters, Ted Rhodes and Cindy Rhodes both of Monetta, SC, Elliot Rhodes of Ninety-six, SC and Joyce Bright of Leesville, SC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rachel Brown. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
