On Monday, December 24, 2018, Christmas Eve, Mrs. Catherine Allen "Peg" Ingram heard the loving voice of her Savior calling her from labor to reward, hearing him say, "Well-done, Catherine, good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joys of thy Lord." She was 74 years of age.
Catherine was born February 29, 1944 in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late Charlie Allen and the late Bessie Bennett Allen.
She attended Anson County public schools and worked for many years at Holly Farms. Following her time at Holly Farms, Catherine cared for children and loved them as her very own.
Catherine was a long-time member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and attended services faithfully until declining health dictated so in October of 2018.
She was married for 46 years to Weldon Ingram who preceded her in death.
Left to cherish and hold dear her memories are her children; James (Flossie) Ingram of High Point, Teresa (Phillip) Hinson, Betty Ingram, Wayne (Regina) Ingram and Anthony Ingram all of Wadesboro; step-children, Connie Walker of Goldsboro, Lee Anthony Jones of High Point and Weldon Lee Ingram, Jr of New York; 33 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a God daughter, Sheila Dumas and many others whom she took under her wing and cared for as her own.
Also surviving are her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Emma Rosebud, Doreatha Ingram, Joyce (Dennis) Crowder, Susanna Smith, Gloria Ingram and Winnie (Rev. R.J.) Ingram and special family friends, James Little, Frank Tyson, Margaret Robinson, Ruth Ann Parker, Carolyn Barrett, Linda Barrett and Bernice McLean and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Union County for the loving manner in which they cared for Catherine.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Old Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery.
