WADESBORO- Charles Edward 'Mushy' Baker, 71, entered into eternal rest June 6 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, June 14, 2014 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. George Senter and Rev. D.W. Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends Friday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
Mushy was born in Anson County on June 29, 1942 a son of the late William Jackson and Mollie McManus Baker. He was retired from BV Hedrick Sand and Gravel Company. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family. He had a special love for animals and will dearly miss his pet companion, 'PJ'.
Mushy is survived by his wife, Sara Williamson Baker; his children; Eddie Baker, Robin Baker, Warren (Crystal) Williamson, Ty (Melinda) Williamson; his grandchildren, Meghan Baker, Triston Williamson, Noah Williamson, Daniel Williamson and Jonathan Williamson; and his great-granddaughter, Kyleigh Rose Jackson.
Also surviving are his siblings, Anna Murdock. Cleo LaValley, WJ Baker, Richard Baker, Bob Forbis and Curtis Forbis; a special niece, Elaine (Julius) Burr; and other companion, Brenda Exstine.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Kyle Baker; his siblings, Willie Carpenter, Irene Knotts, Myrtle Morris, Iva Mae Baker, Norman Baker, Howard Forbis, JL Forbis, Hurley Baker, Thomas Baker and Eugene Baker.
