Wadesboro- Mr. Charles Horace 'Charlie' Brown, 58, died Friday, March 16, 2012 at Stanly Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be 3:00pm Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Eastview Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Knotts officiating. The family will greet friends Tuesday, March 20, 2012 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
Charlie was born in Anson County on October 2, 1953, a son of the late Horace Brice and Mattie Elizabeth Threadgill Brown. He was an employee of Coffing Hoists and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was known for his outgoing personality, having never met a stranger.
A dedicated family man, he is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Darnel Phelps Brown of the home; his children, Stephanie Dutton and husband, Lagrand of Lilesville and Mitchell Brown and wife, Renee of Wadesboro; his grandchildren, Kelsey Brown, Kaitlyn 'Katie Beth' Brown, Kenneth Brown, John Caleb 'JC' Dutton and Laurin 'Jessie' Dutton.
Also surviving are his two brothers, Bobby Brown and wife, Cindy of Wadesboro and Johnny Brown and wife, Jane of Polkton.
