ANSONVILLE – On Sunday, February 14, 2021, Mr. Charles Everett Harward, Sr. 90, passed away peacefully at Anson Health and Rehab in Wadesboro.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, February 19, 2021 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Friday and other times at the home of his son, Charles Harward, Jr. in Wadesboro.
Due to the continued COVID-19 risks, we ask that you practice social distancing at all times and refrain from any physical contact. Everett was born June 18, 1930 in Anson County, NC and was a son of the late Thomas Frank Harward and Neta Frances Helms Harward.
He had a career in law enforcement for more than 30 years, having worked as Chief Sheriff’s Deputy with the Anson County Sheriff’s Department and later retiring as Sargent with the Wadesboro Police Department.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Charles E. Harward, Jr. (Carolyn) of Wadesboro, Louise H. Thomas (Edwin) of Peachland and Frances H. Radford (Dennis) of Gastonia; his grandchildren, Philip Harward of Wadesboro, Christy Brown (Dac) of Stephen City, VA, Jenny Thomas of Greensboro, Megan Thomas of Peachland, Gene Radford (Stacy) of Kings Mountain and Neil Radford (Heather) and Kelley Radford both of Dallas; his great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Hannah, Chase, Savannah, Tucker, Taylor, Sydnee, Corey, Ariel, and Kylee; his great-great-grandchildren, McKinlee, Kasen, Jaxxon, Hannah and Maddie; his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Johnny Treadaway (Kathy) and Sarah Hildreth both of Cheraw, SC and Dee Harward of Charlotte.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Treadaway Harward in 2017, his grandson, Charles E. “Chucky” Harward, III; his great-granddaughter, Emily Harward and his brothers, Johnny Harward and Henry Harward.
