            On Friday, March 1, 2024, Mr. Charles Frederick Valentine, 93, passed away at the home of his daughter in Wadesboro.

  Charles was born April 29, 1930, in Mineola, NY, and was a son of the late Charles Frederick Valentine and the late Lillian Blake Larsson.  

He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked for 20 years with the Nassau County Police Department in Nassau County, NY as a Police Officer. He also owned and operated, Noyac Hardware Store with his wife for 10 years in Sag Harbor, NY. 

In 1981, he and his wife moved to Murphy, NC from Sag Harbor. He enjoyed a good game of golf with his friends at Cherokee Golf Club. He and his wife also enjoyed traveling and they visited forty-nine states in their travels. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Florence A. Valentine, and by his sisters, Lolly Tripp and Audrey Bartow. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Susan Valentine and Nancy Nobregra both of Murphy, Jacalyn Dacuk of Sag Harbor, NY and Kim LaBarge of Wadesboro; his grandchildren, Charles Hamilton, Timothy Hamilton, Brian Hamilton, David Nobrega, Zachery Dacuk, Jason Dacuk, Melissa Baird, Stephen Baird, Samantha Enchautegui and Trish Baird and nine great-grandchildren. 

The family will have a memorial service at a later date at the Long Island National Cemetery in Long Island, NY.
