MORVEN - Mr. Charles Dudley Williams, died Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center Union in Monroe.
Funeral services will be 3:00pm Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at New Hope United Methodist Church Rev. Stephen Shytle, Rev. Bob Herron and Rev. Ray O'Ferrell officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends 6:00pm until 8:00pm tonight (Monday) at Leavitt Funeral Home.
Charles was born July 23, 1933 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Alley D. and Edith Adams Williams . A 1952 graduate of Deep Creek High School, he was a farmer and had worked with Cuddy Farms prior to his retirement. He was a life-long member of New Hope United Methodist Church and was active with the United Methodist Men and was a member of the Anson County Bee Keepers Association.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Eleanor McLaurin Williams of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Damien Ratliff and his son, Michael Williams both of Morven; his grandchildren, Luke, Cassidy and Charley and his sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Todd McAfee of Morven and is sister-in-law, Kay McLaurin of Wadesboro and his nieces and nephews and their families. His sister, Margaret Williams preceded him in death.
