Christopher Shannon Sims

MARSHVILLE - On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, Mr. Christopher Shannon Sims, 50, passed away at his home.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 10, 2024, at the Horne Family Cemetery in Peachland.

Shannon was born January 15, 1974, in Anson County, NC, and was a son of Kendra Sue Mitchell Melton he was lovingly raised in the home of his grandparents, Robert and Maxine Horne Mitchell. 

He enjoyed fishing, animals, especially his dogs, and his job cattle farming with Emmett Marsh at Still Creek Farm in Union County. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Kendra Sue Melton on Wadesboro; his sister, Sheena Coppin (Philippe) of Indian Trail; his nieces and nephew, Chiara, Shania, and Kameron; his uncles, whom he called his brothers, Robbie Mitchell of Monroe and Timmy Mitchell of Kernersville; his great-aunts, Brenda Deatheridge of Wadesboro and Diane Shackleford of Peachland and a dear family friend, David Melton of Marshville.

In addition to his grandparents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Russell Melton.
