Claude Elvin Buddy Mr. Carroll

Holden Beach - Mr. Claude Elvin 'Buddy' Carroll, 67, died peacefully in his sleep at his home on Sunday, September 2, 2012. Funeral services will be 3:00PM Thursday in the mausoleum at Sunset Memory Gardens at 8901 Lawyers Rd. in Mint Hill, NC. The family will greet friends in the mausoleum beginning one hour prior to the service. Buddy was born in Jacksonville, NC on July 1, 1945, a son of the late Claude Andrew and Mildred Norton Carroll. A veteran of the US Navy, he was the owner and operator of Carroll & Son Painting Contractors. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Shirley Powell Carroll of the home; a son, Claude Bradley Carroll, his wife, Jennifer and their children, Alexia Leigh and Madeleine Brooke; a daughter, Kelly Madeleine Carroll-Jordan, her husband, Donald Reid Jordan Jr. and their children, Preston Reid, Lauren McKayla and Brendan Paul; and daughter, Stephanie Ola Carroll Hill and husband, Stephen Boyce Hill and their children, Claudia Faith and Robert Andrew. He is also survived by his brother and sisters, Judy Goodson, Nancy Carroll, Ralph 'Pee-Wee' Carroll, and Donna Carroll all of Jacksonville, NC. A brother, Roger Carroll and a grandchild, Claudia Grace Carroll preceded him in death. Leavitt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
