WADESBORO - On Monday, May 15, 2023, Mr. Cleveland "Cleve" Jordan, Jr., 91, passed away peacefully at Meadowview Terrace Assisted Living in Wadesboro.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Storz officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends at the church Thursday one hour prior to the service and from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM Wednesday at the Jordan home in Wadesboro.
Cleve was born October 13, 1931, in Anson County, NC, and was a son of the late Cleveland Jordan and the late Lillie Mae Dean Jordan. He retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation with 30 years of service.
He was a member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church in Wadesboro for 70 years and had served as a deacon and usher.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Cheri Tyson (Ronnie) of Wadesboro and Karen McNulty (Jim) of Mocksville; his daughter-in-law, Becky Jordan of Lilesville; his sisters, Josephine Dickens and Peggy Long (John) both of Wadesboro; his sisters-in-law, Eunice Jordan of Wadesboro and Nancy Gulledge and Pat Gulledge both of Lilesville; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Patsy Gulledge Jordan; his sons and daughter, Mark Davy Jordan, Terry Jordan, and Susan Harrington and his sisters and brothers, Pauline Pegram, Sarah Dickens, Mary Frances Digs, Cleva Mae Hooks, Marguerite Treadaway, Louise Paul, Jean Burris, Pete Jordan, and Woodrow "Bud" Jordan.
Cleve will be remembered as a loving and faithful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He took great pride in being able to mow his own yard and keep it in pristine condition. He was known among his family and friends as a man who could fix anything, he not only worked as a mechanic with the Department of Transportation but did mechanic work for others on his own time. He especially enjoyed having conversations about the "good ole days".
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3373 Country Club Rd., Wadesboro, NC 28170.
