ROCKINGHAM Mr. Clyde Dean Davidson, Jr., 94, died Friday, March 2, 2018 at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday, March 5, 2018 at Forestville United Methodist Church. Interment with Masonic Rites will follow in church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 4:00pm until 6:00pm Sunday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro and other times at the home. Clyde was born November 27, 1923 in Union County, NC a son of the late Clyde Dean and Julia Ramsey Barrett Davidson. He was a graduate of Lilesville High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II which made him a part of the "greatest generation". He was a member of Kilwinning Masonic Lodge in Wadesboro, having served as Master of the lodge in 1960. He had a long career with the railroad system, having first been employed with Seaboard Airline Railroad, which later became CSX Railroad, retiring as an agent with 42 years of service. He was a member of Forestville United Methodist Church in Lilesville and enjoyed attending services at First United Methodist Church, Rockingham after he and his wife moved to Rockingham. Surviving are his children, Bettie Webb Davidson Wright and husband, W.C. of Polkton, Clyde Dean Davidson, III and wife, Sandy of Richmond, VA and Jeffrie Wall Davidson and wife, Julia of Rockingham; his grandchildren, Barrett Teal and husband, Scott of Carnesville, GA, Jeff McFaddin, Jr. and wife, Carissa of Commerce, GA, J. Bradley Davidson and wife, Stacy and Joshua W. Davidson and wife, Melissa both of Rockingham; his great-grandchildren, Cody Teal, Charlie Davidson, Jeffrie Davidson, Oliver McFaddin, Mason Davidson, Reid Davidson and Ezekiel McFaddin; his sister-in-law, Bettye Wall of Charlottesville, VA and a host of nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Bettie Elaine Wall Davidson and his sister, Dorothy Davidson Moss. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Community Home Care and Hospice for their exemplary care for Clyde while he was their patient. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forestville United Methodist Church, % Kay Vaughn, Lilesville, NC 28091.
