Coy Melvin Taylor

Hamlet- Coy Melvin Taylor, 85, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 30, 2025 at First Health Hospice in West End.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, February 3, 2025 at Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Timothy Blackwell officiating. 

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.

Coy was born February 16, 1939, in Anson County, NC and was a son of the late Lewis Wilson Taylor and Agnes Ferree Taylor. He was a graduate of Burnsville High School.  Coy worked for the Railroad and owned and operated Carolina Piping but first and foremost enjoyed his work as a life-long farmer. Most importantly he loved his family and spending quality time with them.

Those who are left to cherish his memory are his children, Jacqueline Parks (Timothy) of Corunna, IN, Stephen Taylor (Chrissy) of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Jody Taylor (Tega) of Lilesville; his grandchildren, Taylor Parks of Butler, IN, Emily Parks of Fort Meade, MD, Ashley Whitworth of Copperas Cove, TX, Katey McGee of Fuquay-Varina, Matt Taylor and Hunter Taylor both of Lilesville; his great-grandchildren, Connor Whitworth, Ronin Pontzius and Dillinger Pontzius; his brother, Roy Taylor (Doris) of Marshville.
