Curtis Billy Mr. Carpenter

PEACHLAND - Mr. Curtis Billy Carpenter, 77, died Sunday, September 29, 2013 at his home. Services will be 12:00pm, Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Harmony Community Church with Rev. Rocky Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Griffin Cemetery in Polkton. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church and other times at the home. Curtis was born February 25, 1936 in Anson County, NC a son of the late William Alexander and Pearlie Mae Wright Carpenter. He was the owner and operator of Carpenter's Used Cars and Parts prior to his retirement. Surviving are his children, Dennis Carpenter, Marilyn (Ed) Helms, and Rick Carpenter all of Peachland, Carolyn (Ronnie) Hamilton and Donnie (Robin) Carpenter both of Polkton and Tommy (Jackie) Carpenter of Stanfield; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie Lee Woodard Carpenter, his sons, Lynn and Randy Carpenter and by his sister and brother, Jerry Carpenter and Betty Taylor. In lieu of flowers, the family asks contributions to the Curtis Carpenter Fund, P.O. Box 274, Wadesboro, NC 28170 in an effort to assist with funeral expenses.
