Cynthia Deese Sasser

Wadesboro – Cynthia Deese Sasser, age 42, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, November 12, 2021, from the UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, after a courageous battle with cancer.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, November 16th at Faith Free Will Baptist Church in New London, NC. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends on Monday evening at Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro from 7:00PM until 8:30PM.

A native of Anson County, Cynthia was born April 4, 1979, a daughter of Troy and Patricia Odom Deese. She graduated high school in Anson County before entering the work force. She worked a number of years in the cafeteria at Peachland-Polkton school where she was well thought of by both students and staff. She was married to the late Matthew Alden Sasser of Millingport who passed away in 2016.

Survivors include a daughter, Madilyn Rose Sasser of the home; two step-daughters, Allison Wensil (Jesse) of Albemarle and Lisa Goodman (Andy Salmon) of Richfield; her parents, Troy and Patricia Deese; a sister, Vonda Allen (Jamey) of Rockingham; six grandchildren, Lane, Luke, Lyle, Dennie, Korie, and Kymbree; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family suggests memorials be made to Joshua Free Will Baptist Youth Camp, 29387 Pennington Rd, Albemarle, NC 28001.

Mrs. Sasser was a sweet woman of God!! I had the pleasure of getting to know her and her daughter Madilyn and her nieces Trinity and Trinity's little sister as the girls bus driver. It was an honor getting to know you. I can say you always had my back when issues arose. I was already missing picking up the girls and seeing you @ Peachland-Polkton, then you gained your wings and took your rest. Your families home was one of my favorites to stop @ to pick the kids up. Prayers for Madilyn & the family! Love you always Mrs.Sasser! You will be missed! No more pain & suffering!🕊😇
