WADESBORO - Mrs. Daisy Ruth Moore King, 92, of Matthews and formerly of Wadesboro died Friday, July 25, 2014 at Novant Health in Matthews.
Services will be 11:00am Monday, July 28, 2014 by the graveside at Camden Presbyterian Church.
The family will greet friends following the service and other times at the home of her great-niece, Jennifer Tarlton on Pleasant Hill Church Road.
She was born July 18, 1922 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Charlie and Madgie Trexler Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Leroy King and her brothers and sisters, Charles Moore, Ben Moore, Fred Moore, Virginia Beck, Anne Beck and Clara Pickard.
Ruth was a 1939 graduate of Deep Creek High School. Following graduation she moved to Charlotte and enrolled in beauty school. She first went to work at a beauty shop in downtown Charlotte until she operated at shop in her home, retiring at the age of 89.
She was a life-long member of Camden Presbyterian Church and she cherished her heritage there.
Surviving are her nieces and nephews, Linda Lindsey, Pam Tarlton and husband, Steve, Jennifer Tarlton all of Wadesboro and Russell Lindsey of Chesterfield, SC who she shared a special relationship with; and Jennie Otersen of Danville, VA, Charles Beck of Cary, Dr. Fred Beck of Jacksonville, FL and Lee Moore and Karen Hartman both of Roanoke, VA; and her caregivers, Laura Treadaway and Helen McGee.
