LILESVILLE – On Friday, September 3, 2021, Mr. Dallas Monroe Ratliff, 75, went to be with his Lord while a patient at Atrium Health Union in Monroe.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, September 8, 2021 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Teddy Lawson officiating. Interment with Masonic Rites will follow in Anson Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Dallas was born May 16, 1946 in Anson County, NC and was a son of the late James Monroe Ratliff and the late Clara Adams Ratliff. He was a graduate of Anson High School and was employed with the Anson County Schools with more than 40 years of service at the time of his retirement.
He was an active member of Lilesville Baptist Church where he was a member of the Vance Gulledge Sunday School Class. During the COVID pandemic, Dallas hosted the Sunday Class in the garage of his home in order for them to still be able to meet although, church services had been limited.
Dallas was a member of Kilwinning Masonic Lodge #64 in Wadesboro. He enjoyed the times shared with the brotherhood of the lodge.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Darlene Bridges Ratliff; his children, Monica Renee Griffin (Jeff) of Lilesville and James Dallas Ratliff (Gwen) of Oak Island; his grandchildren, Justin Monroe Jenkins (Krista Grooms) of Lilesville, Caroline Spencer Ratliff of Oak Island, Ross Jonathan Carpenter of Lilesville and Neal S. Carpenter of Oak Island; his sisters and brother, Ernestine Brooks (Lynn) of Huntersville, Avis Crowley of McFarlan and Delton Ratliff of Iron Station and his nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Andrew Ratliff, Gayland Ratliff, Esther Preslar, Edna Rogers and Aaron Ratliff and his step-mother, Josephine Lowery Ratliff.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Masonic Home for Children, Kilwinning Masonic Lodge, P.O. Box 298, Wadesboro, NC 28170.
