Daniel Forte, Jr.

Wadesboro - On Thanksgiving morning, November 28, 2019, Daniel Forte Jr. passed away at Atrium Health-Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina at the age of 84. Daniel was born on May 17, 1935 to Daniel Sr. and Yancey Forte, he was the second oldest child of 12 children. Daniel was affectionately called "Junior" by his siblings and called "Uncle June" by his nieces and nephews. He attended Anson County Training School in Wadesboro, North Carolina and after graduation moved to New York. Daniel began working as a child in uptown Wadesboro and chose to follow the Catholic faith after learning more about Catholicism from the head lady of the house. Once he arrived in New York, he began his adulthood career of working in security. He retired from security work in New York and in Florida. Daniel loved to work and chose to continue working after retiring twice! He moved back to Wadesboro and worked at Wingate University in Wingate, N.C., worked 5 years at Pilgrims Pride in Marshville, N.C., and worked 7 years at Allens Professional Investigations in Wadesboro, N.C. Daniel was preceded in death by his daughter Brenda Forte-Clarke, daughter-in-law Sheila Forte, son Ronnie Pig Howard, and two brothers: Walter Forte and Gregory Forte. Daniel leaves to cherish his memories his children: Daniel "Junior" Forte, Sabrina Forte, Sonya Forte, Rickie Forte (Dianne Adkins-Forte), Gloria Howard, son-in-law Laurence Clarke, 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; siblings: Mary Durant, Johnsie Peace, William (Annie) Forte, Rosa Lee Forte, Carrie (Teddy) Lee, Bessie (Willie) Wilson, Ida Mae Murrell, James (Gloria) Forte, Clarence (Clintonia) Forte, Fairy Lee Gaddy; two sisters-in-law: Juanita Forte, Denise Forte; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday, December 5, 2019 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Park.
