MORVEN- Mr. Darrell Lynn Cowick, Sr., 50, died Saturday, August 25, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be 5:00pm Tuesday, August 28, 2012 in Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Rocky Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the services beginning at 4:00pm. Darrell was born in Anson County, NC on June 10, 1962, a son of Shelby Gooden Cowick Whitaker and the late Charles Edward Cowick. At the time of his death he was employed with Southern Fabricators Inc. in Polkton with 27 years of service. He loved racing and going fishing. Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Cathy Tarlton Cowick of the home; his children, Kristie Cowick of Wadesboro and Darrell Cowick, Jr. of Morven; his mother, Shelby Gooden Cowick Whitaker of Chesterfield, SC; his siblings, Tim Cowick and wife, Cathy of Mooresville, Steve Cowick and wife, Carlyn of Wadesboro and Dena Grice and husband, Jimmy of Morven; many nieces and nephews.
