Darryl Kenneth Warrick

WADESBORO - Darryl Kenneth Warrick, our beloved husband, son, father, grandfather, brother and friend was born July 10, 1968, in Springfield, MA and was a son of the late William Warrick and Diana Long Warrick Huntley and Lee Huntley.

Our Heavenly Father, in his infinite wisdom saw fit to call Darryl home to be with him on Friday, September 22, 2023. He was 55 years of age.

Darryl grew up in Springfield, MA and attended the public schools there and worked as a Manager with Hilton Gardens. He relocated to North Carolina to be near his parents and worked with Pilgrim’s Pride in Marshville, prior to declining health.

He enjoyed growing plants, animals, singing, interior decorating, martial arts, Godzilla movies, and cooking.

Darryl accepted Christ as his Savior and was a part of For Your Glory Ministries in Oakboro.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 5 years, Deitra Threadgill Warrick’ his children, Dionna Warrick, Dirrell Warrick, Dominique Warrick, Darryl Warrick, Jr., Diamond Warrick, Davonte Warrick, December Warrick, Zaphariah Warrick, Zephaniah Warrick, and DaShanti Warrick; 13 grandchildren; his parents, Diana and Lee Huntley; his brothers, William Warrick, Jr., Lee Huntley, Jr., David Warrick, Dwayne Warrick, Phillip Warrick, Daquan Warrick, Shawn Kendall, Destrik Burns, Jamarcus Huntley and Tyrone Huntley; his aunts and uncles, Mozetta Mitchell (Lynn), Peggy Baldwin, Berleese Beal (Mahlon) Althea Warrick and William Long, Jr.; his mother-in-law, Julia Threadgill; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Gwen Napier (Ricardo), Pastor Karen Crump(Boris) and Kerry Threadgill; a special aunt, Juanita Beamon; special friend, Bishop Ronald “Rev” Sellers (Frances) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Darius Burns.

Funeral services will be 2:00PM Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Oakboro.

There will be public viewing from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Friday, September 20, 2023 at Leavitt Funeral Home and also from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the church prior to the service.

The family is gathering at the home of his parents, Diana and Lee Huntley, 506 W. 2nd. St, Oakboro, NC.
