Darryle Dale Smith

CHESTERFIELD, SC - On Wednesday, July 19, 2023, Mr. Darryle Dale Smith, 59, passed away peacefully at ATRIUM CMC Main in Charlotte with his family at his bedside.

There will be no formal services at his request but family and friends are invited to visit the home of his sister, Martha "Cookie" Goodwin, 186 Farm Road in Wadesboro from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, July 20, 2023.

Dale was born in Indiana on May 3, 1964 and was a son of the late Calvin Smith, Jr. and the late Annie Ruth Black Smith. He was a pipefitter and welder.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Dale Smith, Jr. and Megan Smith both of Patrick, SC and Kayla Smith of Rockingham; 9 grandchildren; his sisters and brothers, Shirley Marsh of Chesterfield, SC, Tommy Smith (Donna) of Morven, Bill Smith of Nakina, Martha "Cookie" Smith (Steve Holden) of Wadesboro and Teesha "Puddin" Smith (Ken Tucker) of Morven; his step-sister, Jessica Terry of Wadesboro and his nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Caren Austin and by his brother and sister, James "Rocky" Smith and Mary Ellen Smith.

Dale was a simple man who enjoyed simple things in life. He loved time spent camping, fishing, small engine repair and eating good food.
