David Richard Mr. Burr

TIMMONSVILLE, SC - Mr. David Richard Burr, 69, formerly of Wadesboro died Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC. Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, August 22, 2014 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. David was born July 29, 1945 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Aurthur Wilson and Ada McLaurin Burr. He was retired from CSX Railroad as Assistant Division Engineer with 34 years of service. Surviving are his children, Tammy Eitzman of Florence, SC, Ondria (Victor) Tucker of Paris, KY and David (Rebecca) Burr, Jr. of Huntington Beach, CA; his sisters, Rita (Nathan) James, Dot (Philip) Whitt and Sylvia (Rodney) Williamson all of Norwood,NC, Linda (George) Gilleland of Boone, NC and Carolyn (John) Matjasko of Charlotte, NC; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and his faithful canine friends, Patty Cake, Annie and Little Bit. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Coble Burr in 2012 and by his brothers, Arthur Wilson Burr, Jr. and Francis Burr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice organization of the donor's choice. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
