David Mason Horne

PEACHLAND – On Tuesday, May 4, 2021, Mr. David Mason Horne, 84, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Union County with his family at his bedside. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday, May 7, 2021 at Peachland Baptist Church with Rev. Jerome Cash and Rev. Phillip Parrish officiating. Interment will follow in Peachland Cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service at the graveside. David was born August 6, 1936 in Anson County, NC and was a son of the late James Douglas “JD” Horne and the late Mary Ruth Horne. He was a graduate of Peachland High School and attended North Carolina State University. He was a member of Peachland Baptist Church since childhood where he was ordained a Deacon. He retired with 30 years with USDA as a Poultry Inspector. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Rosa Frazier Horne; his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Darrell Martin of Peachland; his grandchildren, Max, Mason and Mia Martin all of Peachland; his sisters and brother-in-law, Reva H. Carpenter of Marshville and Jan and Mike Smith of Knoxville, TN; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Betty Lou Horne of Peachland, Howard and Dorothy Frazier and Earle and Carol Ann Frazier all of Siler City, Steve Frazier of Whitsett and Bill and Diane Frazier of Pittsfield, MS. David will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed Quail hunting with his brother and fishing with the grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Douglas Horne. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peachland Baptist Church, P.O.
