Debbie Ann Tanner was born in Anson County, NC on June 30, 1969 and was a daughter of Mary Geneva Tanner Maske and Eddie Maske. After a brave and courageous battle with cancer, she became the victor over death and was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on Monday, May 25, 2020 while being cared for in her home by her children and family members. Debbie was 50 years of age.
She was a 1988 graduate of Anson Senior High School and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Pinehurst Medical Center in Pinehurst, NC. She was a member of Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Marshville.
Left to cherish her sweet and loving memories are her children, Shamonica Smith and Akshun Howard both of Wadesboro; her grandchildren, Sydavioun Little of Rockingham, NC and Leilani Smith of Wadesboro, NC; her mother, Mary G. Maske of Wadesboro, NC; her father, Eddie (Emily) Maske of Peachland, NC; her sisters, Helen (John) Jones of Wadesboro,NC, Geneva (Dewayne) Leak of Rockingham, NC, Sylvia (Byron) Reid of Creedmoor, NC, Lezonia Maske of Wadesboro, NC and Natasha (Malachi) Davis of Florence, SC; her aunts, Juretha Tanner of Wadesboro, NC, Brenda (Jay Watt) Diggs of Lilesville, NC, Helen (Anthony) Streeter of Laurinburg, NC, Sarah Rushing of Peachland, NC, Hattie (Tracy) Little of Polkton, NC, Carolyn Collins of Polkton, NC, Virginia Patterson of Marshville, NC, JoAnne Tanner of Winston-Salem, NC and a special aunt, Shelby (Jasper) Sturdivant of Wadesboro, NC; her uncles, Larry (Frankie) Tanner of Morven, NC, Louis Tanner of Polkton, NC, Roger Tanner of Lilesville, NC, Eddie Tanner of Wadesboro NC, James (Brenda) Maske of Polkton, NC and Willie Maske of Wingate,NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Clodex Maske and her uncles, Walter Tanner and Edward Tanner.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to everyone for the many acts of love and kindness shown to them during Debbie’s time of declining health and now during their time of bereavement.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, May 29, 2020 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Park.
Those who wish to pay their respects, Debbie will lie in repose from 1:00pm until 6:00pm on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at the funeral home.
COVID 19 mandates will apply and social distancing will be maintained during the funeral service on Friday and during the visiting hours on Thursday.
