God saw the road was getting rough, The hill was hard to climb; He gently closed those loving eyes And whispered “Peace Be Thine.”
On Thursday, May 9, 2024, God reached out and embraced Delephine Colette Rivers, our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and took her with Him to be at rest.
Delephine was born October 7, 1970 and was a daughter of the late Elnora Bonita Rivers. She was educated in the public schools of Anson County and confessed Christ at an early age as her Lord and Savior.
She was a strong woman. She was a great softball player, winning many trophies, playing for the Lady A’s. She enjoyed fishing and was her own handy man. Her motto was, “what’s the worst that can happen, it’s already messed up, so I’ll either fix it or make it worse.” However, she always fixed the the problem.
Delephine worked for many years in the poultry industry and Norwood yarn sales for several years. In 2006, she received her CDL’s driving license, driving for Werner Enterprise Trucking and she also worked with Monarch Group Homes. However, her greatest love was driving bus #59 for the Anson County School System, where she worked for the last 15 years dedicated to her job and the students she transported.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jefferson “Rex” Rivers, Reginald Rivers and Marcus Rivers; her grandmother, Helen Rivers and her aunts, Sandra Rivers and Patricia Lomax.
Her everlasting memories will be cherished by her only daughter, Randi Rivers and her only granddaughter, whom loved and adored greatly, Amira Rivers; her brothers, Fredrick (Jenifer) Rivers of Philadelphia, PA and Sam Rivers of Lilesville, NC; her sisters, Quisha (Charles) Rivers of and Cassandra Rivers of Wadesboro, NC; her four nieces including, Shalaria Rivers, who she was very close to; her uncles, Warren Rivers of Monroe, NC and William Rivers of Lilesville, NC; her aunt, Paula Rivers of Philadelphia, PA and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 18, 2024, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Old Parsons Grove Cemetery.Friday, May 17, 2024
