Wadesboro- Mrs. Dianne Dabbs Baker, 73, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at her home in Wadesboro Funeral services will be 4:00pm Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Leavitt Funeral Home. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 3:00pm. Dianne was born in Anson County on January 18, 1944, a daughter of the late Robert Lee Dabbs, Sr. and Ethel Lee Dawkins Dabbs. She worked in local textile mills for a number of years including West Knitting and Anson Shirt Company. After retiring from textiles she operated her own cleaning business until the decline of her health. Survivors include her son, Eddie Baker of Wadesboro, and daughter, Robin Baker of Wadesboro; special friend, Pattie Woodard; granddaughter, Meaghan Baker of Wadesboro; special friend, April Mclendon; great-granddaughter, Kyleigh Rose Jackson of Wadesboro; her brother, John Furman (Linda) Dabbs of Salisbury, NC and sister-in-law, Jean Dabbs of Sumter, SC; three nephews and one niece. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Kyle Baker; and two brothers, Robert Lee Bobby Dabbs, Jr. and Richard Hampton Dabbs. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Monica and Tonya, nurses with Hospice of Union County. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
