LILESVILLE – Mrs. Doris Ann Talent Maynor, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Monroe.
Doris Ann was born January 18, 1931 in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late William Dozier Talent and the late Catherine Melissa Faulkner Talent. She was a graduate of Wadesboro High School and had worked for many years at Faulkner Motor Company and Beachum and Lee Ford as the Title Clerk and Cashier. She was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving are her children, Garry Maynor and wife, Brenda of Williamsburg VA and Sharon Dawkins and husband, Sammy of Morven; her grandchildren, Melissa Burr and husband, David, Shelley Jarman and husband Justin, Maggie Crider and husband, Jamie, Kate Sweeney and husband Brad, Brittany Heaslip and husband Justin; her great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Ross, Avery, Risden, Mary, and Stephen; her sisters, Laura Pratt of Greensboro and Lois Baker of Ashland, KY.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Maynor and her brothers and sisters, Doc, William, Earl, Vernon, Mary Jane and Henry Belle.
Doris’ request was to have a private graveside service at Gum Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Lilesville.
The family is gathering at the home of her granddaughter, Melissa Burr in Peachland.
