WADESBORO – Mrs. Doris Mattox Bias, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at the age of 95.
Doris was born April 12, 1925 in McDowell County, WV, the daughter of the late Russie Moore Mattox and Sylvester Mattox.
She was married to her wonderful husband Bill, for 73 years. They traveled extensively and enjoyed times shared on the dance floor. She was a former Girl Scout Leader, a member of the Anson County Historical Society, and was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church, Wadesboro.
In addition to her husband, Doris is survived by her daughters, Carol Jones, and Becky Cockman (Kinsey) and her grandchildren, Lauren Jones, Rachel Cockman, and Kinsey Cockman (Ashley).
The family is forever grateful for a group of outstanding caregivers who cared for Doris in their home for the past few years.
Doris will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and loyal friend.

Funeral services will be 3:00pm Monday, February 8, 2021 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Sarah Kalish officiating. Entombment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
