Doris Lewis Whittington

MCFARLAN – On Saturday, January 30, 2021, Mrs. Doris Lewis Whittington, 83, went to be with her Lord. Doris was born July 24, 1937 in Chesterfield County, SC and was a daughter of the late Johnny Isiah Lewis and the late Emma Tyner Lewis. At the time of her death, she was still employed with Medical Specialties in Wadesboro. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in McFarlan and also attended Polkton Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dwight Whittington, and Tracy Holloway (Mark) both of McFarlan; her companion, Tommy Mathis of Polkton; her daughter-in-law, Amy Whittington of Wadesboro; her grandchildren, Matthew Whittington, Whitney Holloway, Kendall Holloway, Noah Holloway, Chloe Holloway, Lewis Whittington, Brooke Davis, Ashley Whittington, and Jonathan Whittington and 9 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Whittington, her son, Tony Whittington and her sisters, Laura Phillips, Elizabeth Griggs, Janie Livingston Moore and Mary Etta Keith. The services will be private.
