Dorothy Lorraine Allen

WADESBORO -  Dorothy L. Allen was born on January 19th, 1959, in Anson County, NC and was the youngest daughter of the late Cleveland Allen and Minnie Waddell Allen.   God called his angel home on Monday, February 12th, 2024.  

She is a graduate of Bowman High School, class of 1977. Dorothy continued to pursue higher education and attended classes at local community colleges enhancing her skills in math and business administration. 

 As a child, Dorothy was baptized at Pee Dee Baptist Church. Because of her parents' dedication to God's ministry in multiple churches, she followed in her parents' footsteps, and attended both Savannah AME Church and Pee Dee Baptist Church.

Dorothy was a gentle, soft-spoken spirit with a generous heart. She was a good example of what it means to give to others.  She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, and friend.

To cherish her memory are her children Terrence Allen of Albemarle, NC and Cherese Allen of Lilesville, NC; her sisters, Juanita Allen Nelson of Albemarle, NC, and Judy Allen Bryant of Accokeek, Md; sister and brother-in-law Minnie L. Allen  (Huiett) and Richard Huiett of Irmo, SC; her aunt and uncle, Betty Waddell Knotts and Fred Knotts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her oldest sister, Marion Allen Liles.

              Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, March 1, 2024 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will Pee Dee Baptist Church Cemetery in Lilesville.
